I decided to get into extreme carving because it looks soo fun. I bought an F2 carving board and Catek step-in bindings last year but couldn't find anyone to go out with and I couldn't find any instructors with an actuall hard boot carving set-up. Everyone in the West Coast still into soft boot only. There is even more people on the East Coast who exteme carve than anyone out here and of course if you moved to Zinal Switzerland then you wouldn't have any hard time finding an instructor or people to extreme carve with, but that's too far away for me. So the only thing left to do is find some people who have same interest as I do and this web site is the closest thing that I have found here in central California. I am not a total beginner at snowboarding and I have done a far amount of skiing as well. I snowboarded in the soft boot style for a couple of seasons which I am sure it will help me out with the transitioning to the hard boot style. I am hoping there is someone out there who can help me learn how to extreme carve properly. I do not want to get any bad habbits. Also it is a lot more fun to exteme carve with bunch a people out on the slopes than having to do everything yourself all day long. So with all this in mind is there anyone going out to the slopes any time soon because as we all now we are getting some awesome snow this season and sure would hate to miss it. Give me a call at 408-504-9710 and hope to hook up with all of you exteme carvers soon.
